How to Make Homemade Girl Scout Cookies (Recipes for All Your Favorites)
It's not Keebler or Nabisco that rules the cookie market. It's your daughter. It's your next door neighbor's niece. It's that uniform-clad girl with the badges on her chest sweetly smiling at you in front of Walmart, trying to get you to buy some cookies for her organization.
It's the Girls Scouts of the United States of America. And during Girl Scout cookie season, they sucker everyone into purchasing some Samoas or Trefoils, claiming each cookie has its mission—to help girls do great things.
But what if you can't find that Girl Scout peddling cookies in front of Walmart? What if it's off-season for those delicious and addictive little crisps of delight? What if you want a Tagalong or Thin Mint cookie right now?
Then it's to the kitchen!

The Thin Mints are one of my favorites, and the most enticing recipe comes from CHOW. The recipe for these peppermint cookies is fantastic, but takes some work. But doesn't everything? Get the Slim Mints recipe @ CHOW.

These doughnut-shaped cookies covered in caramel and coconut are another favorite. The Samoas are made by Little Brownie Bakers, while the Caramel deLites come from ABC. But the best ones are the ones made by YOU! Check out this Fijis recipe @ CHOW, which is their spin on the seductive shortbread cookie.

Normally, I can stave off attacks from the Girl Scouts, but when they start waving a box filled with peanut butter and chocolate delights, I can't help but reach for my wallet. But I'd much rather make these "Left-Behinds" @ CHOW.

The Girls Scouts know what they're doing. Their Do-Si-Dos are crisp oatmeal cookies with delicious peanut butter filling, it's hard not to grab some of these. But it's harder to master their secret recipe, though the Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies @ Allrecipes does a great job of matching the flavor.

Fairly new to the Girl Scouts, these cranberry-flavored cookies with white fudge chips are not new to the world. The recipe for White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies @ Allrecipes is one of the better ones, and simple to bake.
